How can we help?

Renovation of Victorian Greenhouse

In June 2017 Elizabeth Creak Charitable Trust made a donation of £5000 to restore the 100 year old greenhouse at Lord Leycester.  The greenhouse was constructed in 1911 to support the 500 year old gardens at the Lord Leycester.  It had fallen into a state of such disrepair that it could not be used for wintering over for plants and for planting seeds or growing young seeds.  The gardener relied heavily on the green house to be able to restock and replant.  With the grant the team were were able to restore the greenhouse at a final cost of £10,000.

With a totally rebuilt and restored greenhouse with restored original mechanical levers inside to open and close windows, visitors love to spend time in the greenhouse looking at and smelling the plants – especially in winter when the greenhouse is a warm sanctuary!

The Lord Leycester at Warwick is a historic Tudor building with historic gardens. Find out more about the listed greenhouse within the tranquil gardens at Lord Leycester on their website.
