How can we help?

Our Mission

The Elizabeth Creak Trust facilitates the long term sustainability of food production in the UK by encouraging continual innovation in farming practices and by investing in people who advance healthy, fair, and sustainable UK food production.

The Elizabeth Creak Charitable Trust is a grant giving body that invests in people who will advance healthy, fair and sustainable UK food production. Grants finance projects that help farmers innovate to survive and thrive while scholarships support and encourage individuals to innovate sustainable practices in farming.

Grants are given through academic and charitable partners to facilitate growth in skills and knowledge that in turn strengthen the UK food and farming sector. Alumni also benefit from an increased network and career opportunities through connections and collaboration.

About Elizabeth Creak & Clyde Higgs

It all started with the vision of the late Elizabeth Creak. A widely respected and enterprising dairy farmer who brought many creative ideas to the world of farming, she inherited the business established by her uncle Clyde Higgs who was himself a renowned innovator, as well as a BBC commentator on agriculture. Elizabeth was invited onto the boards of many local charitable organisations including the Royal Agricultural Society, the Stoneleigh Abbey Trust and the Stratford Society. She was the first female chairman of the Warwickshire branch of the NFU and in 1998 she became the first woman to hold the office of High Sheriff of Warwickshire. Elizabeth bequeathed funds to the Elizabeth Creak Charitable Trust to encourage and support innovation in farming.
